Three friends, who had planned to backpack through Europe this Summer, instead went on a trip to European towns in Texas after the pandemic halted their international travel.
“That was all canceled once the pandemic hit,” Andrew Levitt told KHOU. “Then we realized Texas had a bunch of places, and they actually had, like, an Eiffel Tower and Stonehenge and all these things you’d do in Europe. So what if we just took our Europe trip there instead?”
Together with Jacob Phillips and Taylor Gray, Levitt spent six days traveling 1,400 miles visiting six towns in Texas, wrapping up their trip in Paris, Texas.
“We went from the smallest of towns to visiting the three biggest towns,” said Levitt.
After flying into Dallas, the boys went to Italy, Dublin, London, Nederland (close enough to the Netherlands), Athens, and Paris, Texas.
“I find when you live in a state, you don’t usually do some of the touristy things or visit a lot of the state,” Levitt said. “We got every taste of Texas I think you could get.”
