Passed away unexpectedly January 6th, 2025. Born In Chicago Illinois, February 10th, 1960 , Bonnie spent the majority of her life in Lamar County, Texas and is survived by her son Michael Zane Purcella Pingree, her brother Clay Purcella, and her sisters, Jennifer Purcella Brodie and Cynthia Purcella Fox. A private family memorial will be held in her honor.
Beneath the rough exterior and gravel-like voice, lay a beautiful heart of gold- a sweet and compassionate soul. Having a wonderful sense of humor, she made us laugh without trying. Bonnie was blessed with an amazing green thumb. She found immense joy in cultivating a vibrant garden, canning delicious homemade pickles, jams and jellies. Above all, Bonnie loved her home overflowing with plants and her sweet doggie, Mo-to.
In her Cherokee Native American heritage, goodbye is never said, but rather “until we see each other again.” So for now, until we see you again Bonnie Jane, we will look to the heavens and see you in the stars, and hear your laughter in the wind. We love you and you will be greatly missed.
“I give you this one thought to keep-
I am with you still, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on the snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush-
Of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone
I am with you still, in each new dawn”
Cremation was under the care and direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home.
