Local pastor B.K. Moody is hoping to turn his passion for connecting with people into a national podcasting opportunity as he competes in the 2026 Top Host competition, with a chance to win $25,000 and make a guest appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s podcast.
“I absolutely LOVE being in front of a crowd and feeling their energy,” Moody shared on his competition profile. “I love connecting with the kiddos and making them smile.”
Moody, who has spent nine years announcing motorsports events, said he enjoys the excitement of being in front of a crowd and connecting with audiences, particularly children.
If he wins, Moody said he plans to put part of the prize money toward youth events at his church and take his wife on their first cruise.
His competition profile also highlights his experience in safety, motorsports and ministry, which he believes would give him a wide range of topics to discuss on a podcast.
Moody has advanced through several rounds of public voting, securing a spot among the Top 15 contestants. He is currently ranked sixth as voting continues to determine the Top 10.
The competition offers the winner a $25,000 prize, a six-episode podcast of their own and a guest appearance on Seacrest’s podcast.
Contestants entered by submitting a short summary of their hosting experience and what they enjoy most about it. Since then, the competition has relied on public voting, with supporters able to cast one free vote each day through Facebook or purchase additional votes.
The field has narrowed through several rounds, beginning with the Top 25, followed by the Top 20 and Top 15.
Throughout the competition, contestants have also been asked to answer questions about their aspirations, including what winning would mean to them, who they would most like to interview and what topics they would explore on their own podcast.
Voting for the Top 10 closes Thursday, Oct. 29, at 9 p.m.
