Paris Police responded to a fatality accident at 12:52 A.M. on January 6, 2023 in the 3400 block of FM 79. A 2017 Nissan 370Z left the roadway travelling Northwest and struck a tree. The driver was killed as a result of the collision. The investigation continues.
Paris Police responded to a burglary of a residence in the 700 block of E Austin St at 4:25 P.M. on January 6, 2023. The victim reported that someone had entered their residence and had stolen some Christmas gifts while they had been in the hospital. The incident is under investigation.
At 11:15 P.M. on Janaury 6, 2023, Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 1300 block of NW 7th St for a brake light violation. The passenger, 39 year old Tamara Tmane Hardy, of Paris, gave the officer a false name. Hardy was found to have an outstanding felony warrant out of Lamar County charging her with credit card or debit card abuse of an elderly person. Hardy was arrested and charged with fail to identify as a fugitive. During the stop, the officer located a small package of methamphetamine and a Methamphetamine pipe on the passenger side of the vehicle where Hardy was sitting. Hardy was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance. Hardy was later placed in the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police arrested 61 year old Wilbert Watson, Jr. at his residence on a parole violation warrant at 10:25 P.M. on January 7, 2023. Watson is currently on parole for a Lamar County homicide conviction where he is serving a 40 year sentence. Watson was booked and later placed in the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police arrested Adarian Jajuan Ivory, 24, of Clarksville, Texas, at 4:46 P.M. on January 8, 2023 at the Police Department on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated sexual assault of a child. Ivory was booked and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to a burglar alarm at 707 Graham St at 2:57 A.M. on January 9, 2023. When the officers arrived, they observed that the front door had been pried open. Upon entering, they did not locate anyone inside. A representative of the store arrived and reported that several cartons of cigarettes and two small safes had been stolen. The safes contained approximately $2,000 in cash and change. The incident is under investigation.
Paris Police responded to 201 calls for service and arrested 16 persons over the weekend ending at midnight on January 8, 2023.
