Laura Lee, the daughter of Charles Russell Wilbar and Genevive Molly Olesh, was born on October 8, 1950, in San Luis Obispo, California.
Laura married Jack Hoskins, Sr. on September 25, 1968, at Free Will Baptist Church in Kermit, Tx. and while she never lost her love for her home state of California, she embraced her new life with Jack in Texas where they created a home that was built on a foundation of Good Soil. For 53 years, Jack and Laura shared a deep love and loyalty for the work of the Lord and each other. Together, they raised six children, imparting these same loves, continuously through the stages of their children’s lives – even unto the end.
Laura was a lady with many passions. She had a passion for knowing more and more of the Lord and imparting that in youth ministry. With her husband Jack, and the Hoskins family, they started Jesus Saves Tabernacle in Kermit, Tx, where she taught Sunday School and youth ministry. In 1980, Jack and Laura moved to Paris, Tx where she started her teaching career at Victory Baptist Academy. In 1987, Laura founded Christian Fellowship Academy. Her teaching career spanned 30 years, and it brought her great joy throughout her life. In the years after CfA, she loved seeing her former students and had such pride in the lives that they had created for themselves. Laura was an artist who loved to paint and create. She also loved to play music. At a very young age, her parents taught her to play the piano, guitar, and to sing. Some of her favorite times as an adult were playing music and singing with her Mom and Dad.
