Dust off your cowboy hats, grab your ropes and get ready for some friendly competition at the 2nd Annual Newman & Norwood Productions Goat Roping on Nov. 21.
This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with $1,000 added to the pot and a Ruger American rifle up for grabs for the High Money Roper.
“Grab your friends, bring the family, and come enjoy a night of roping, music, and good ol’ western fun,” said event organizers. “We’re proud to be working with CASA for Kids to help make a difference in the lives of local children.”
The family-friendly event kicks off at 4 p.m. with dummy roping for children ages 10 and under.
There will be two age divisions — 7 and under and ages 8–10 — with buckles awarded to the winner of each division.
Books for the goat roping open at 5 p.m., with competition beginning at 6 p.m.
Entry for contestants is one new, unwrapped toy or a $10 donation per person, with proceeds benefiting CASA for Kids.
“We want to give back as much as we can to CASA for Kids, and we encourage everyone to bring an unwrapped toy or make a donation to support the organization,” organizers said. “Let’s come together, have a great time and give back to some amazing kids.”
The event will be held at Cielos, located at 2845 NE Loop 286 in Paris.
