Evelyn Martin, 89 of Roxton, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
A graveside service has been set for Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at 1:30 PM at Restland Cemetery in Roxton. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 1:00 to 1:30 PM.
Evelyn was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on October 16, 1937 to Carl and Elizabeth Groschup. She married Carlton R. Martin in Ft. Worth on July 31, 1956. She was of the Lutheran faith. Evelyn loved to be outdoors whether it was fishing or just admiring the beautiful plants and trees. She often sat out on her front porch with either a glass of sweet tea or an iced cold Coca-Cola in hand, having her “front porch therapy.” Evelyn was a master at crocheting and an excellent cook. We all could learn a lesson from the wise counsel she regularly gave her family and friends, “it is so easy to be nice.” She was so loved and will be missed very much by all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Carlton Martin; children, Olivia Pharmakis and husband Jim, Derek Martin, Keith Martin; grandchildren, Cameron Pharmakis and wife Jennifer, Zachary Martin and wife April, Katie Barnes and husband David; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Pat Groschup, Jo Brown; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Groschup.
