On July 9, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of NW 19th Street for speeding. Officers made contact with the male driver and determined he had multiple outstanding Paris Municipal Court warrants. Following the driver’s arrest, officers conducted an inventory of the vehicle prior to towing and located THC wax inside a container within the vehicle. The driver was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2, One Gram or More but Less Than Four Grams, a Third-Degree Felony.
On July 9, Officers responded to the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue in reference to a shoplifting incident at a local business. Upon investigation, officers determined that a male subject had attempted to leave the business with multiple items without paying for them. The subject was taken into custody for theft. A review of the subject’s criminal history revealed two or more prior theft convictions, enhancing the offense to Theft of Property, Less Than $2,500 with Two or More Previous Convictions, a State Jail Felony. During a search incident to arrest, officers also located THC wax in the subject’s possession. The subject was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2, Less Than One Gram, a State Jail Felony.
During this reporting period, officers conducted 13 traffic stops, made 6 adult arrests, and responded to 78 calls for service.
