Daphne Diane Hutchins, age 72, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2026 in Austin, TX.
She was born February 6, 1954 in San Marcos, TX, to John Snowden Norvell and Alva Mae (Rosser) Norvell. She married Richard Michael Hutchins on May 22, 1976 in Emberson, Texas and they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with a trip to Egypt last month.
Diane was a proud member of the Kilgore College Rangerettes, 33rd line, 1972-1974. She met the love of her life, Richard Michael Hutchins, at East Texas State University, Commerce, TX. Richard, a career Air Force Officer, and Diane loved the adventures of traveling. She became an award-winning cruise travel consultant and they took many cruise and land tours all over the world. But their favorite USA destinations were Disneyland and Walt Disney World where they went at least once a year, particularly during holiday seasons.
Survivors include her husband, Richard and their beloved rescue dog, Roscoe of Bastrop TX,; sister, Carolyn Burton of Buda, TX; niece, Debbie Fett of Buda, TX; grand-nephew, Phillip Fett (Jessie) of San Angelo, TX,; cousins, Colleen Mallette, Patty O’Connor, Michael Welch and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an aunt, Nita Welch and a grand-niece, Amberlyn Fett.
A graveside service will be held at Mt. Tabor Cemetery near Paris, TX at 11:00am on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
