North Lamar High School HOSA students recently visited Everett Elementary classrooms to teach younger Panthers the importance of proper handwashing through a fun, hands-on activity.
During the lesson, elementary students washed their hands before applying a special lotion that helped reveal areas they missed when placed under a blacklight. Many were surprised to see how much they had left behind!
The HOSA students then demonstrated proper handwashing techniques, including the importance of scrubbing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Students had the opportunity to practice their new skills while learning how good hygiene helps prevent the spread of germs.
The visit gave Everett students a memorable lesson in staying healthy while allowing NLHS HOSA students to share their knowledge and practice teaching important health skills.
Through activities like these, North Lamar students are learning from one another and making connections across campuses.
