NLHS Junior parents proudly hosted the first-ever Daddy-Daughter Dance for North Lamar ISD as a prom fundraiser, welcoming more than 150 families for a magical evening filled with memories, music, and community spirit.
Girls arrived dressed in full glam, while dads proudly escorted their daughters into the dance. Each pair was welcomed with a rose at the entrance, paused for a photo, and then made their way down a red carpet into a beautifully transformed gym—turned into a winter wonderland complete with glowing lights and decorated trees—ready to dance the night away.
“This night was about creating memories that our girls and their dads will carry with them forever,” said Melissa Allen, junior parent and one of the event organizers. “Seeing the smiles, the excitement, and the love in that room made every bit of planning worth it. We are so thankful for the community that showed up to support our students and our junior class.”
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the many individuals and groups who made this unforgettable night possible: Justin & Stephanie Wideman, Janie Sharrock, and Meagan Musgrove for helping set up, donating, and bringing the vision to life; Devin Wyatt, who kept the party going and stayed more than two hours after the dance to help with cleanup and tear-down; Paris Florist for donating roses that made every entrance extra special; Jeff Akard for ensuring a safe and welcoming environment; Little Dribblers crew—Austin Parson, Ronnie Smith, and Keith Sheridan—for covering the gym floor; and North Lamar Athletics for allowing use of the gym and supporting the event.
Because of the incredible support from parents, volunteers, and community partners, the junior class is off to a fantastic start with their prom fundraiser. The North Lamar community continues to show that when we come together, something truly special happens.
