On Jan. 8, Officers were notified of a theft occurring in the 2300 block of NE Loop 286. During the early morning hours of January 8, suspects entered the victim’s enclosed trailer, which was parked at a job site, and stole numerous power tools with values totaling over $2500.00. The trailer had been locked prior to the theft. Officers collected evidence at the scene and the incident is under investigation.
On Jan. 8, Hoyle Berk Mitchell (64) was arrested in the 2900 block of S. Church St. after an being stopped for a traffic offense. Upon contact it was discovered that Mitchell was intoxicated. Mitchell was given field sobriety test and then arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. It was noted that Mitchell had 2 previous convictions for DWI and so the charge was enhanced to DWI with 2 or more Priors, a Felony. During a vehicle inventory, a handgun was discovered in the vehicle and a charge of Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon was added. Mitchell was booked without incident.
Officers made 29 traffic stops, 2 adult arrest, and answered 94 calls for service during this reporting period.
