Lamar National Bank is warning customers of a phone scam after several customers reported receiving suspicious calls.

The company posted to their Facebook page:

We have had reports from some of our customers that they have received phone calls from numbers that are displaying “Lamar National Bank” on the caller ID. While we do on occasion have to reach out to our customers by phone, we would not ask for your account and/or personal information. If you receive any calls of this nature, do not give out any information. Ask for the name of the person you are speaking with, then contact us by phone at (903) 785-0701.

Several phone scams have been making the rounds in Lamar County recently with callers claiming to be with the Social Security Administration (SSA) and Lamar County Sheriff’s Office to name a few.

Officials warn if the call seems suspicious to hang up and contact the organization they are claiming to be with and to never give out personal details over the phone.
