Paris Police are investigating a Felony Deadly Conduct Discharge Firearm that occurred in the 1800 block of Jackson Court on Sunday morning after a subject shot a handgun into a house.
According to reports, the victim stated that she had moved here from the Dallas area approximately six months ago to get away from the life she was living and believes the suspects were parts of her past.
“The suspect vehicle was located in the 2900 block of South Church Street and a stolen firearm was located inside the vehicle and was placed into police evidence,” said Paris PD. “Four heavily intoxicated males, who were all arrested for Public Intoxication, claimed to have been involved in some type of altercation with another group of people.”
Paris Housing Authority on Monday said they were aware of the shooting that occurred and have been in contact with residents.
“The safety of our residents is of utmost importance to the PHA board and staff. We have discussed the situation with residents and have assured them of our concern for their well-being,” said PHA. “We’re also encouraging residents and any other members of the public who may be aware of the incident to cooperate with the Paris Police Department’s investigation. We’re working with residents on any security concerns they bring to our attention. The public should know that authorities take such dangerous behaviors seriously and PHA cares about residents.”
The investigation continues.
