On Monday, April 29 at 11:20am; a Paris Officer was dispatched to the scene of a Burglary of a Habitation in the 400 block of SW 19th Street. An open window with the screen cut was observed on a guest house. A $30 black in color guitar, along with the surveillance camera, a Google Nest valued at $169 was stolen. The camera showed footage up until 12:00am when it was disconnected. The scene was photographed and a few small smudges were located on the window.
On Monday, April 29 at 1:08pm; a victim in the 3400 block of Fargo Drive spoke with a Community Service Officer in the PD lobby and stated that he and his wife have guardianship over their nephew and were notified by their tax preparing service that their return had been rejected due to their nephew already being claimed. A Felony Fraud Use Possession of Identifying Information Report was taken.
On Monday, April 29 at 1:42pm; a Paris Officer responded to the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue to a man with a gun call. Three adults and an infant in a vehicle stated they were driving south bound on 271 N, when they were passed by a white male driving a Hyundai vehicle and the Hyundai almost ran them off the road. Verbal conversations were exchanged through the vehicle’s windows. It was reported that the driver of the Hyundai yelled at them, while waving around a black in color medium to large size pistol with a silencer attachment on it. The case is open for investigation.
On Monday, April 29 at 6:25pm; a female victim in the 900 block of West Center Street stated to a Paris Officer that her ex-boyfriend had attempted to strangle her and the strangulation attempt lasted approximately 2 minutes. Visible bruising on her neck consistent with strangulation was observed by the officer. 18-Year-Old Damian Glen Hood was not on scene at the time, but did return shortly afterwards to attempt to recover his personal property and was placed under arrest for Felony Assault Fam/House Mem Impeding Breath/Circulation and booked into the Paris Jail.
