Rick Smith, 64, of Paris passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
There will be no services at this time. Cremation arrangements were made by Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.
Rick was born August 27, 1953, in Dallas the son of Bill R. and Shirley King-Smith. He was married to Marie Maynard Smith. He was a retired police officer having worked at Paris Police Dept. and retired from Red River County as a deputy sheriff. The love of his life was his family and he loved riding his motorcycle and fishing. He was dedicated to his profession as a police officer and deputy sheriff.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Shirley Smith, brother, Dennis R. Smith and niece Vanessa Cheshier.
He is survived by his wife Marie Smith; daughter Kristal Adams and husband Austin Adams, stepson Mark Serres and girlfriend Angelicia Handley, stepson Clay Smith; grandchildren Hayden, Maddox and Brylee,; stepmother Margie Smith; sister Deanna Halliday and husband Billy E. Halliday, Jr.; nephew Richard Halliday and wife Danae and their sons Brandon and Dylan; nephew Jeff Halliday Sr. and wife Lynette and their children Jeffrey Halliday Jr. and his fiancé` Brittney Parker, Ashley Halliday and Desiree Taylor; nephew Chuck R. Smith and wife Dustie and children Hunter and Emily; niece Tammy W. Torres and husband Kevin; and sister-in-law Melba J. Smith.
