The Winter Classic Junior Livestock Show, hosted by Cross Branch Cowboy Church, is set for Jan. 30, 2021, at Lamar County Fairgrounds.
Entries are open from 6 to 8:30 a.m., and the show will begin shortly after entries close.
Entry fees are $40 for the first entry and $20 for each additional.
Up for grabs during the Winter Classic JLS are:
- Grand and Reserve overall species buckles;
- Grand and Reserve breed prizes;
- Third overall prizes and other prizes; and
- Ribbon 1-6 in each class.
Species shown by weight include:
- Market hogs;
- Market goats; and
- Market lambs.
Breeding gilts will be shown by age and breed while breeding heifers will be shown by age and division.
Steers will be shown by division and weight, and the cattle division will be American, British and Exotic.
Ring one will house lambs and goats, ring two will have market hogs and breeding gilts, and ring three will have steers and heifers.
There will be free showmanship entries, and wash rocks will be available alongside concession stands.
The judge for the goats and lambs is Les Harris, the judge for heifers and steers will be Justin James, and Josh Couch will judge the swine.
Heifers require registration papers.
