On the agenda for Thursday night’s Reno City Council Meeting: public hearing on WiFires’ installation process. The locally owned and operated high-speed internet provider strives to bring fiber to the Reno area and hopes for community support during the public hearing.
WiFires President Mossie Kines said the company will offer $150 vouchers toward fiber installations for those who attend the 5:30 p.m. Reno City Council meeting either in-person or through Zoom.
“We heard there was a problem with the internet in the Reno area, and now we’re trying to provide a remedy to that problem,” said Kines. “People want options, and right now, there are no options for better internet in that area. We want to provide what we say we’re going to provide; faster internet for less than you’re paying right now.”
Reno City Council’s meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 6. For more information and how to view the upcoming meeting on Zoom, click here.
