North Lamar Marching Band is set to arrive back in Paris around 9 p.m. this evening and will be awarded their bronze medals in the NL gymnasium shortly after.

Locals plan on gathering at North Lamar High School to welcome home the band.

Both North Lamar and Paris ISD Marching Bands qualified for the finals, performing Wednesday with NLHS Band advancing to the final round that evening.

“We want to thank our students, parents and school community for supporting and helping us through this year with all the weather issues. We would also like to thank Arron Emmeyabbi and Steven Hohenberger for helping us and Paris HS bands with using stadiums and indoor facilities for practices. They have bent over backward for the bands.” said North Lamar’s band director Jason Smith.

“It’s not just about a music program, it is about instilling responsibility, good work ethic, learning to work and care for others, building positive relationships and pride in a job well done,” added North Lamar Band Booster President Diedra Rast.
