The United Way of Lamar County (UWLC) launched their annual heater drive this week. Donations of new space heaters may be dropped off at the United Way of Lamar County office, located at 2340 Lamar Avenue in Paris, or at any Lamar National Bank location.
UWLC Executive Director Jenny Wilson explains, “As the temperatures drop we get a lot of calls for space heaters. I think a lot of people would be surprised how many in our community do not have central heat. We give out heaters to those in need as we receive donations of new heaters. We want to do all we can do to help those in need, especially when the temperatures drop below freezing.”
