“Hello, America. My name is Sunny Chatum and I’m from Paris, Texas,” said the performer who took the stage on America’s Got Talent Season 18.
Chatum, a novelty performer who claimed to be from Paris, Texas, and works on custom cars and trucks, received four red buzzers from the judges after frustrating the judges when he took forever to start singing.
However, after successfully annoying not only the judges but the audience too, Chatum began to confused the audience when he pulled his mustache off, revealing himself to actually be female comedian, Krista Komondor.
And, she wasn’t from Paris, Texas.
After the big reveal, three of the judges took back their buzzers and voted “yes” to sending the Brooklyn-based comedian through.
Viewers had mixed reviews for the act, with some saying it “felt icky and gross,” while others said “this was ABSOLUTELY S.T.U.P.I.D (sic) — BUT I LOVED IT.”
Some residents actually from Paris, Texas, weren’t too impressed she claimed to be from their hometown, taking to social media to share their thoughts.
“Why she gotta do Paris like that?,” said one local.
“Oh man, way NOT to represent Paris,” said another.
