Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that the State Highway 121 overpass in Fannin County at the intersection with US 82 will be closed from 9:00 p.m. April 15 until 6:00 a.m. April 16 for bridge work.

The closure was previously scheduled/announced for April 10-11.

Austin Bridge & Road Services LP crews will pour the bridge deck during this time, officials said. A signed detour will direct traffic around this temporary closure.

This project is part of the current expansion of US 82 from two lanes to a four-lane divided highway with a depressed median, from one-half mile west of State Highway 121 in Bonham, Texas, eastward to six-tenths of a mile east of State Highway 56 in Honey Grove, Texas.

Motorists who regularly travel along this portion of US 82 in Fannin County are asked to pay special attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
