We received notice from one of our FB followers regarding a scam attempt regarding their social security card.
“The caller states that your SS card has been suspended due to suspicious activity and then needs personal information. The number on caller ID has too many numbers: 80986510289,” said the department.
The caller then wants to connect you to a ‘live’ person to verify your social security number and most likely ask for personal information.
“The follower handle the call well and disconnected without providing any information.”
These scams are out there and looking for the people who have not heard of the scam or is caught off guard. Never provide any of your personal information over the phone from any unsolicited call.
Always be completely sure of who you are talking with and we really suggest that you never give your personal information out over a phone.
