Robert Marcus Stribling 91, of Detroit, Texas, died at 7:07 AM, Thursday, February 8, 2018 at his home. A memorial service is set for 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Martin Memorial Methodist Church. Burial will be in Detroit Cemetery. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of burial arrangements.
Bob was born November 27, 1926 in Detroit. He graduated from high school and attended Texas Tech. He served his country during World War II in the US Navy. He first married Evelyn Vickery and later married Frances Thompson. Both wives preceded him in death. He was a 32nd degree Mason for 65 years. Mr. Stribling owned and operated a ball bearing distributing company.
Survivors include his two daughters, Brandy Hertz and Shelley Heinley; four grandchildren, Chris Hertz, Nicole Chovanetz, Heather Bingham, and Tiffany Loeb; and one sister, Charlotte Phifer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Estle and Bennie Morgan Stribling.
