Road works and construction that could affect traffic on SH 34, between SH 56 and US 82, in Fannin County will begin Aug. 1, 2023.
North bound and South bound lanes on this section of SH 34 will be closed for traffic for about three weeks (if everything goes well).
Drivers can use the alternative route shown in the attached detour layout.
The detour signs will be in place on Monday, July 31, 2023 and the road will be closed on the morning of August 1st.
Message boards will be in place 10 days in advance to notify drivers. Drivers including emergency responders can use either FM 1396 (west of SH 34) or make a turn at the SH 56 and US 82 junction (east side of SH 34).
