The Reno Parks and Trail Committee on Sunday updated guidelines for Reno residents regarding fireworks over the New Year break.
The committee said fireworks may be exploded or discharged through Jan. 6. From Monday through Saturday during these dates, persons may discharge or explode fireworks within the city and its extraterritorial jurisdiction between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. On Sunday, fireworks are permitted from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
On the dates of December 31st through January 1st, regardless of the day of the week, fireworks are permitted beginning at 11:00 a.m. on the 31st of December and no later than 1:00 a.m. on the 1st of January.
Prohibited fireworks: Any missile with fins or attached guidance devices which is designed to explode at apex and emit noise or lights in conjunction with the explosion.
