The 6th Annual Trooper Jeffery Don Nichols Memorial Wild Hog Hunt is set to start at 6 p.m. on Feb. 2 with weigh-in starting at 11 a.m. on Feb. 5.
All proceeds benefit Trooper Jeffery Don Nichols Scholarship Fund, and the cash-only registration fee for a four-man team is $300, which must be paid by 6 p.m. on Feb. 1.
All entry fees are non-refundable, and includes entry into one of the two categories – dead or alive. Entry into both categories will require paying two separate entry fees.
Buckles will be awarded for 1st place in each category. The team with the greatest total weight of 5 hogs win. Winning teams will be subject to a polygraph examination after weigh-in.
Bonus pots, which includes an additional entry fee of $100, consists of 60% of bonus entry fee pays out to the winner with buckles in each category. Teams must be entered into the main hunt to participate in the bonus pots.
Weigh in will be at Gabbling Towing, 1840 N.W. Loop 286 for dead category at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for alive on Feb. 5. Each pig included must be a minimum of 80 pounds.
