A cyclist was killed Tuesday night after being hit by tow-truck on FM 273 in Ivanhoe, DPS said.
“Around 9:20 p.m. 39-year-old Sherry Morrison of Texarkana, AR, was riding her bicycle northbound on FM 273 when she was struck by a tow-truck,” said DPS Public Informaiton Officer Sgt. Mark Tackett.
Morrison was riding in the northbound lane when a tow-truck, also traveling northbound, hit her.
“She did not have reflectors or lights on the back of her bike and was riding in the dark,” added Tackett.
Ms. Morrison was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Kenny Karl
DPS, Fannin County Sheriff’s Office, Bonham Fire Department and Bonham EMS all responded to the accident.
FM 273, from Beaver Point to the third bridge on FM 273, was closed for a period of time on Tuesday evening.
