ARRESTED: Public assistance helps police catch burglar

Paris Police officers arrested 19-year-old Eric Gabriel Basham, of Paris, at 5:29 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of NE 28th Street in Paris. 

The department put out a call for help to locate Basham on Tuesday and within hours of posting on their Facebook page, they successfully brought him into custody. 

Basham was known to have three outstanding warrants; one warrant charged him with theft of over $750 but under $2,500. 

Police state he was observed on video surveillance breaking into a security cabinet and stealing two Apple iPhones in the 3800 block of Lamar Ave on June 28, of this year.

He also had two felony burglary of habitation warrants that were also served to charge Basham with entering a residence on Meadowlark Lane on two different occasions and stealing items. 

At the time of his arrest, Basham refused to identify himself. He was then placed in jail awaiting to be arraigned.
