Last Thursday afternoon, a North Lamar Intermediate student dropped her hearing aids on the way to the bus.
When she arrived home, she shared the news with her mom which resulted in frantic and determined mom, Chelsea Miller, racing back to campus to search for the missing essential device.
Not having much luck in her search, she reached out to social media, fearing the worst, but hoping for the best.
Fortunately, Patti Easterwood, a dedicated bus driver for North Lamar ISD, spotted the dropped hearing aids during afternoon dismissal and turned them into the campus office the next morning.
Her keen eye and thoughtfulness ensured the safe return of the crucial devices to their rightful owner.
Overwhelmed with gratitude, Chelsea Miller wasted no time in expressing her heartfelt thanks to Ms. Easterwood by leaving her a basket of goodies to enjoy.
“She’s such a blessing! We’re so thankful you went above and beyond, and stopped to pick up what was in the road. Those hearing aids mean so much to us,” expressed Chelsea Miller, reflecting the impact of Ms. Easterwood’s action on her
family.
