A driver caused extensive damage in Hugo, Oklahoma, on Monday afternoon, damaging multiple vehicles and destroying a building, including gas station canopy, while fleeing from police.
According to reports, an officer saw the vehicle driving erratically, turned around and attempted to stop the vehicle before the driver fled.
“The Norman, Oklahoma, female done a hit and run around southwind acres, then onto McDonald’s – driving through the west fence,” said Choctaw County Sheriff Terry Park. “She ran down Jackson with no regards to human life, hits a sign across the street at Hill and Son Station, knocking it into a 4runner then hits a parked white car destroying it.”
The driver then hit a gas station canopy, bringing down the cover over the pumps, before flipping the vehicle and landing on top of Hill and Sons office – destroying the building.
“Everybody inside the office is ok. She (the driver) was transported to the local hospital, where they flew her right out to Plano Hospital, where she was seen for a few minutes then released,” said Park.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Hugo Police Department are currently working to get charges filed and a warrant issued.
“We’ll extradite her from anywhere in the U.S.,” said Park. “Please come forward with any videos or information on this driver. We have confidence in our Assistant District Attorney taking care of this person through the court.”
A more detailed report will be release soon.
