Paris Regional Medical Center’s Auxiliary Team was recently celebrated at their annual Auxiliary Volunteer Banquet Awards Luncheon for completing an exceptional, and historical, year of giving.

Due to the volunteer’s tremendous efforts through enriching the lives of Paris Regional Patients, employees and those who live in our community, a necessary theme was set after the children’s book titled “The Little Engine That Could”.

In the 2017 year alone, the 151 active volunteers selflessly donated 34,635 hours, donated professional artwork and framing to upgrade aesthetics to patient care floors, donated a new vehicle to the Security Department, donated special lactation chairs to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and donated new chairs to the ER and Fast Track lobbies.

The Auxiliary Team were also donated to several community agencies including the Children’s Advocacy Center, New Hope Center of Paris, Paris Movies in the Park, Lamar Delta Teacher Book for Children, and provided fans for senior citizens in our area.

Among the individuals recognized was Ophelia Payne who received an award for serving 13,500 hours.
