A car crash Sunday night in Fannin County claimed the life of one man and injured a family of three from Detroit.

At approx. 7:14 p.m. on Sunday, the Bonham Police Department received a call of a major accident on Hwy. 82, just west of the intersection with Hwy. 78.

“A vehicle heading west on Hwy 82 driven by 50-year-old Vincent Lee Elmore, crossed the center stripe and struck a 2018 GMC pickup, heading East, driven by 26-year-old Warren Lee Chesshire,” said Cheif of Police Mike Bankston.

Bankston said Mr. Elmore was killed in the accident.

Also in the Chesshire vehicle was his wife, 27-year-old Brandi Kay and 6-year-old Carson Chesshier.

“Mr. Chesshire had lower body injuries and was airlifted from the scene to Medical City Hospital in Plano,” said Bankston. “Mrs. Chesshier and their son Carson were taken by ambulance to Texoma Medical Center in Denison.”
