Downtown Paris could soon be home to ‘DAQ’Z Crazy & Wing’z’; a New Orleans style daiquiri and wings restaurant.

It’s the dream of Paris High School graduate and now Dallas Police Officer Raphyael Tyson who has always wanted to give back to his hometown.

“I’ve wanted to do something like this in Paris for about five or six years,” said Tyson. “I just have let God dictate the past and when the opportunity to be downtown presented itself I knew it was the right time,” said Tyson.

Tyson is currently working with the city to acquire necessary permits and plans on occupying the old Subway building located at 5 E Plaza in downtown Paris.

The concept for the restaurant first came to Tyson whilst in college and presented itself again when he moved to Dallas.

“When I was in college daiquiri’s were a big thing and over the past few years they’ve really popped up all over Dallas. There is nothing else like it in Paris and I wanted to bring something new and fresh to town.”

The New Orleans “sit-in” style restaurant will be a place locals can go to socialize with friends, catch a sports game and get a drink and a bite to eat.

DAQ’Z Crazy & Wing’z will have 33 different flavors of wings and 12 daiquiri machines.

Some of the Daiquiri flavors are hypnotic, hurricane, peach, mango, pina colada, strawberry, margarita, sour apple, Mai Tai, orange mango, rum runner. cherry limeade and more. Virgin strawberry and margarita will also be available.

“We will have nine basic flavors that patrons will be able to mix n match and create flavors plus we will have daily mystery flavors.”

While the soon-to-be-father and his wife Erica plan on staying in Dallas for the time being, they’re looking forward to being apart of the downtown community and building a business in Paris.

“I wanted to create a place that people can go to relax and enjoy themselves,” said Tyson. “I was born and raised in Paris and my whole family still lives there including younger family members, so it means a lot to me to show them if you dream it you can do it.”

Job opportunities for locals will be available with interviews tentatively set for mid-July.

Tyson hopes to open DAQ’Z Crazy & Wing’z within the next two months.
