While gasoline prices in Paris, Texas, are noticeably cheaper than the national and state averages, the price is expected to drop even more in coming weeks.

“Oil prices are falling but prices at the pump remain the same,” said the owner of VP Racing Sun Valley Bryan Whitaker, “we should see a noticeable decrease in price at the pump as school days approach.”

The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline as of Thursday morning is $2.75, according to AAA. However, the average price in Texas is $2.504.

Both of those figures are noticeably less from what people were paying last month. AAA noted that the national average is six cents cheaper than a week ago and 13-cents less than a month ago. In Texas, those differences are similar – gas is currently five cents below the average from a week ago and 11 cents less than a month ago.

“The production increase is expected to decrease crude prices and in turn drive down gas prices later this year,” AAA noted in a news release.

According to gasbuddy.com, the average price of gas is Paris, Texas, is $2.38* which is considerably cheaper than the national and state average right now.
