Peoples Bank recently announced the promotion of four employees to new roles within the bank.

In making the announcement President Terry L. Christian said “Peoples Bank is proud to recognize the accomplishments of W. Chance Abbott, Kimberly Bills, Christy Gentry and Frances Goodson with well-deserved promotions.

Their long-standing commitment to the Peoples Bank team and our customers is unmatched in this community.  These four individuals represent what ‘People Helping People” is all about.  We appreciate their hard work, and look forward to their continued leadership and contribution in the years to come.”

W. Chance Abbott has been promoted to Vice President. A graduate of Texas Tech University, Chance began his career in hospitality with management assignments at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in New York City, and later the Four Seasons Resort in Dallas. He returned to his hometown roots six years ago to join Peoples Bank and work alongside his father, Chairman and CEO Ronald E. Abbott. During his tenure at Peoples Bank he has helped usher in new banking technology and even greater customer service excellence. Chance is married to Savannah, also a Paris native, and they have one daughter Birdie.

Kimberly Bills, the Lamar & Collegiate Teller Supervisor was given the additional title of Assistant Cashier.  She began her career with Peoples Bank nearly 7 years ago as a part-time teller, later becoming a full-time teller, commercial teller and eventually Teller Supervisor in September 2017. A Paris native, Kimberly received her associate’s degree from Paris Junior College, and later studied Business Administration at Texas A&M-Commerce. A three time Employee of the Month, Kimberly is also the bank’s 2018 Employee of the Year. In her free time she is a proud Mom in the stands cheering on her athletic 10-year-old son Kedan Adamson.

Loan Department Supervisor Christy Gentry has been recognized with a promotion to Assistant Vice President. She has an impressive 32 years banking experience, 26 of which have been at Peoples Bank. Christy began her career at Peoples Bank as a loan processor and teller. She was promoted to Loan Supervisor and Assistant Cashier in 1992, and has led that department ever since.  Originally from Delta County, Christy graduated from Cooper High School, and later attended Paris Junior College. She and husband Garry have two children, Natasha Lathrom and Brandon Freeman, and four grandchildren.

Frances Goodson, the Walmart Branch Manager, was also promoted to Assistant Vice President.  One of the bank’s longest tenured employees with 27 years of experience, Frances first joined Peoples Bank as a teller at the Lamar & Collegiate branch.  She was in new accounts, a floater teller, and on the loan team before moving to the Walmart location in 2005.  Frances and husband Jeff will celebrate their 27th anniversary in May.  Their family includes two sons Hogan and Jasper, daughter-in-law Taylor, and grandson Jaxon. The Goodson family attends the Blossom Church of God where they teach Sunday school and are involved in the Children’s Ministry.

Please join Peoples Bank in congratulating each of these individuals on their well-deserved promotions.
