Billie Rae Renfro Faber Nowell entered heaven on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, surrounded by her family and friends. The family has scheduled a celebration of her life on Saturday, Feb. 23rd, at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1771 Bonham St., Paris, Texas with Dr. Eric Moore officiating.

Visitation will be an hour before the service at Immanuel Baptist Church from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Prior to the celebration of her life, the family will be at the home of Jeff & Mary Faber, her son and daughter-in-law at 820 32nd St N.E., Paris, Texas. Bright Holland Funeral Home made private burial in Forest Chapel Cemetery.

Billie Rae was born Jan. 22, 1937 in Greenville, Texas. She was the daughter of Lloyd Renfro and Marie Stubblefield Renfro. Billie Rae was active in sports during her high school years and excelled in basketball. She was an avid Dallas Maverick and Cowboys fan.

Billie Rae was a person who never met a stranger and was most definitely a people person. It seemed everywhere she went, she knew somebody. She liked to see people smile and laugh. She played Mrs. Clause in full dress for many Christmases and for the past few years, played a bed pan guitar and performed at the café in Roxton, Texas.

Billie Rae loved her farm animals and nature; from her cows, which were pets to a pet deer and a pet wolf.

Billie Rae loved to travel with her dear friend and companion James Watson. Seeing much of the United States on their adventures. They also served several years as the Captain of the Veteran Patriot Guard.

Billie Rae especially loved her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. “Nannie”, as they all called her was a wonderful cook. Collecting cookbooks was her hobby. She tried fabulous new recipes and sharing them with her family and friends gave her great joy.

Billie Rae was preceded in death by her parents, the father of her children Prentice Damon Faber, her second husband Edward R. Nowell, a daughter Rachel Ann Faber, a brother Robert Renfro and a very special great nephew, Roman Garcia.

Billie Rae is survived by her daughter Sarah Faber of Arthur City, Texas, her son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Mary Faber of Paris, Texas. Grandchildren and their families: Rami & Craig Gaulden and their children, Blake and Katie of Forney, Texas, Alicia & Sean Shurbet and their children, JJ, Khloe, Ian and Finn of Kimberly, Wisconsin, Michael Hebner and son Damon of Paris, Texas, Elizabeth & Royce Brooks and their children Aubrey and Sawyer of Arthur City, Texas, Lindsey & Jason Blackshear and their children Laramie, Larson and Haleigh of Arthur City, Texas. Her best friend, Gay Gordon, whom she loved like a sister. A very special niece, Christy, her husband, Rudy, and son, Zac of Arlington, Texas.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to Platinum Home Health and Hospice. The care they gave was a blessing. They have become like family. May the Lord bless each and every one of you.
