Paris Community Theatre is proud to announce the first show of the 2018-2019 season:  the hilarious Four Weddings and an Elvis, written by Nancy Frick. The show is under the direction of longtime PCT participant Maggie Maxwell and sponsored by Pools & More, Guaranty Bank, Ameriprise Financial, and Gatlin’s All Paws.  Show dates are August 9-12. Shows begin at 7:30 on August 9-11 with 2:30 matinees on August 11 & 12. Tickets are available by visiting pctonstage.com

Sandy, the four-times-married-three-times-divorced owner of a wedding chapel in Las Vegas, has certainly seen her fair share of matrimonies! In the hilarious Four Weddings and an Elvis, we witness four of her funniest: Bev and Stan, who are getting married–by the King himself–as revenge on their exes; Vanessa and Bryce, two arrogant aging stars who are tying the knot as a publicity ploy, and are vexed by an aging Elvis who doesn’t know who they are; and Martin and Fiona, a gentle postal-worker and a tough ex-con trying to get married before the police arrive! However, the final wedding is the funniest of all: Sandy’s fifth and final wedding which reveals a hilarious twist!

“This show has been a blast to work on,” says the production’s director, Maggie Maxwell, “and I think you get to see that through how much fun the cast has on stage.”  The cast includes Mandy Hale, Maddi Jolley, Daniel Martinez, Kevin Wickersham, Wendy Hamaker, Scott Felion, Ed Johnson, Olen Cox, Sam Griffin, and Joey Renfro.

Four Weddings is the first show in an action-packed season for the organization which includes:  Dracula, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Shakespeare in Love, and Mamma Mia. The organization has also recently announced it’s spring children’s theatre production:  Disney’s The Lion King. “We are very excited about our offerings this season,” says PCT’s Artistic Director, Joshua Maxwell. “We think there’s something for everyone.”  Season tickets remain on sale throughout Four Weddings and an Elvis, but will close shortly after. “It’s a great benefit to our patrons,” Maxwell says. “Not only do you have guaranteed seats for every production but you also receive a substantial discount that buying individual tickets on a per-show basis wouldn’t allow.” PCT’s second production of the season, Dracula, begins with auditions on August 13th & 14th.  The production will be under the direction of Mike Pickering.
