This week, Paris Regional Medical Center is proud to take a moment to highlight the dedicated team of hospitalists we have at PRMC as we recognize National Hospitalist Day.
A hospitalist is – in its most basic explanation – a doctor who provides care for patients in a hospital, but we know the work they do reaches far beyond any basic level of care. This has always been true, but throughout the last two years of the COVID-19 pandemic we have seen our hospitalists continue to treat a multitude of illnesses while researching, testing and learning in stride how to care for some of the sickest patients we have seen as they fought a disease foreign to us all.
“The magnitude of the hospitalists role here at our hospital and in our community is powerful,” CEO Steve Hyde said, “and we are incredibly grateful to have such a strong team of physicians and nurse practitioners in our hospitalist program. We are also fortunate to have community physicians and specialists who have privileges and round at our hospital, but for the most part, inpatient care is administered by our nurses and hospitalists. It’s important for our community to know who will be caring for them when they choose Paris Regional Medical Center.”
