Paris Public Library announced its August 2021 Children’s Room lineup, featuring Pre-K storytime, Logo Design Contest and more.
Pre-K Story Time is held every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., and is open to children ages 3-5. It will be outside on the Library deck, and rain will cancel storytime.
Logo Design Contest continues through Friday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m., and is open to children ages 5-17. This contest will allow them to create a new window cling design for the Friends of the Library. Sign-ups are still available in the Children’s Room, where fliers are also available.
On Friday, Aug. 6 at 11 a.m., Paris Fire Department will be outside on the Library deck teaching about fire safety, how the department train and live at the station. Children will have the opportunity to shake firefighters’ hands and thank them for their service.
On Saturday, Aug. 28 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on the library deck, the library will host a rock painting session. “We will supply the rocks and paint; you supply the imagination.” As a family event, Rock Painting is open to all ages and skill levels.
The Children’s Room and Red River Valley Fair Association have teamed up to host a “Read and Win.” Children ages 5-17 who complete 12 hours of reading, or 15 books, will earn free passes and coupons for the Red River Valley Fair. Registration begins on Monday, Aug. 2 at 9 a.m. Deadline for reading logs is Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 6 p.m. A special log will be provided at registration. The Red River Valley Fair runs from Wednesday, Sept. 29-Saturday, Oct. 2.
