Friday, August 30 at 9:02am; a Paris Officer met a victim in the 1500 block of Lamar Avenue and took a report of Felony-Assault Family-Household Member Previous Convictions. The victim stated that her ex-boyfriend grabbed around her neck and shoved her against a wall. Obvious marks were observed on the victim’s neck. The incident will be further investigated.
Friday, August 30 at 6:54pm; a report of a Fraud was reported in the 900 block of West Cherry Street. A Paris Officer spoke with a witness by telephone. She stated that her husband had recently lost his wallet and today had received a call from their bank advising that someone was using their AVANT credit card and had made several transactions. The case will be further investigated.
Friday, August 30 at 10:03 pm; a Paris Officer observed a known subject, known to have an active warrant, sitting in a vehicle in a parking lot in the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue. Contact was made and 32-Year-Old Buddy Tylor Parnell of Detroit was taken into custody for a Felony Parole Violation Warrant-Carrying Prohibited Weapon. Parnell was transported and booked into the Paris Jail.
Friday, August 30 at 10:57 pm; a traffic stop was conducted on a Toyota Camry in the 300 Block of Graham Street for a non-functioning brake light. Contact was made with driver, 57-Year-Old Carla Michelle Mason. During a probable cause search, paraphernalia and cocaine were located in Mason’s purse. Mason was arrested and booked for State Jail Felony-Possession of a Controlled Substance Cocaine. A rear-seat passenger was also arrested for Possession of Dangerous Drugs, a Class A Misdemeanor for possessing a prescription container of Bumetanide pills, not prescribed to him.
Saturday, August 31 at 8:38 am; a Paris Officer took a report of a Felony-Burglary of Building and Class A-Burglary of Vehicle in the 600 block of East Price Street. Several boxes of clothing, a tattoo gun, Micheal Kors purse and miscellaneous were missing from a residence and a vehicle. The offense was reduced from Burglary of a Habitation to Burglary of a Building due to the current unlivable conditions and the unsecured state of the residence. The investigation is on-going.
Saturday, August 31 at 6:35 pm; a Felony-Burglary of Habitation was reported in the 100 block of SW 7th Street. The victim stated he heard a noise from a neighboring apartment that he was overseeing and walked to his back door, opened the door, but could not see anyone. He then stated he opened his screen door, and at the same time, a 15–16-year black male “bum-rushed him”, while possessing a handgun. He grabbed the male and the gun at the same time. The subject stated that he did not have the clip in the firearm, to let him go, and please don’t shoot. The victim stated the male dropped the gun and he pushed the suspect out of the door and the subject fled from the scene. The gun was not reported as stolen and was place in Police Evidence and the investigation continues
Saturday, August 31 at 10:27pm; a suspicious person call was reported in the 3000 block of Lamar Avenue. A subject described as wearing all black was attempting to break into an apartment through a patio door. Paris Officers observed a screen had been removed from a locked window. Contact was made with the apartment owner by telephone, who advised that she was out of town but would have a friend bring over a key. 25-Year-Old Austin Lee Doyal of Lamar County and 22-Year-Old Qualen Dejuane Bell of Granbury were located inside. Doyal was an ex-boyfriend of the apartment owner. She had recently reported incidents of Doyal assaulting her and placing a tracking device on her vehicle, leaving her in fear of further violence/harassment. Both, Doyal and Bell were arrested for FelonyBurglary of Habitation and Doyal was additionally arrested for Felony-Stalking.
Saturday, August 31 at 11:37 pm; a Paris Officer responded to an Emergency Health Center in the 3000 block of NE Loop 286 for an assault call and took a Felony-Aggravated Assault Date-FamilyHouse with Weapon Report. The officer did not observe any visible injuries to the victim. Multiple individuals gave statements of events of what happened relating to the victim allegedly being hit by a vehicle, to be further investigated.
Sunday, September 1 at 10:01am; a Felony-Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon report was taken in the 2100 block of Bella Vista Drive for further investigation after a disturbance occurred between a mother and a daughter, involving a knife being pulled.
Monday, September 2 at 10:07am; board members of an organization in the 500 block of Lamar Avenue spoke with a Paris Officer about a “Felony-Fraud Finance Statement Forged” relating to over $16,000 being stolen by three employees either filing overtime while on a salary payroll, clocking into work while they are not actually at work, or double cashing checks, which will be further investigated.
Monday, September 2 at 1:48pm; a Felony Credit Card or Debit Card Abuse report was taken in the 1500 block of Clarksville Street after a victim reported that her Samsung Galaxy A 15 was stolen and money transactions receipts sent through Cash App had occurred. Video footage provided for review.
Monday, September 2 at 10:20pm; an accident was reported in the 2200 block of NE Loop 286. A driver of a Hyundai Sonata was traveling west bound and had collided with two black cows. Both cows were from the Cattlemen’s sale barn and were killed upon impact. The driver was transported to Paris Regional Health by Paris EMS for neck and back pain.
Friday, August 30 through Monday, September 2, 2024; Paris Police Department responded to 275 Calls for Service, made 10 Adult Arrest and Initiated 70 Traffic Stops.
