On Tuesday, September 19 at 6:40 am; a Paris Officer responded to Lake Crook after Paris
Dispatch received a call from a victim stating that his vehicle was in the water. The victim
stated that he likes to watch the sunrise from the lake. While the vehicle was in reverse, his
hot coffee spilled on his lap; the pain from the spill caused him to lift his foot from the brake
pedal. The vehicle made contact with the water and the water began to carry them away from
the boat ramp. He was able to roll his window down, escape from the vehicle and call
Dispatch. A wrecker service recovered the vehicle that was completely filled with water and
no longer operable. He refused EMS.
Tuesday, September 19, 2023: The Paris Police Department responded to 60 Calls for
Service, Arrested 0 adult persons and made 6 Traffic Stops.
