Paris Police Reports September 14, 2023

Officers responded to the 1500 block of E. Price St in regards to a Burglary in Progress. Caller advised that an unknown male had forced entry to their apartment and was trying to assault them. Officers located a subject in the area matching the description of the suspect and identified him as Joseph Lee Christain, who was known to responding officers. Christain was detained but refused to provide information to officers as to what had occurred. Officers made contact with the victim who advised that Christain had showed up at the residence asking for a female, who was not in the residence. Christain then threatened the victim, who closed the door. Christain then attempted to force entry by kicking the door. He then removed a window unit air conditioner from a window and eventually made entry to the residence. He left after making further threats to the victim as victim was calling police. Christain was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Habitation, a Felony. Once at the station Christain had to be restrained for searching after threatening officers. He was taken to county jail.

Officers responded to the 600 block of SW 7th St in regards to a disturbance. They took Lakayla Kendricks into custody. Kendricks was attempting to assault another family member. Kendricks had just been released from Lamar

County Jail, where she had been confined for similar incidents. A protective order was on file prohibiting Kendricks from illegal contact with the family member and Kendricks was also in violation of a Criminal Trespassing order for the address. She was found hiding in a closet in the residence and taken into custody for Violation of a Protective Order and returned to jail.
