On Nov. 20, Officers of the Paris Police Department and the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force, and Lamar County Sheriff’s Office recovered a stolen 2004 Toyota Four-Runner and arrested Mauricio Jose Alvarado Sequera (39) and Jhon Mario Mayetoner Alverado (22). The victim advised he had purchased the vehicle in Addison Texas and it had been stolen the next day. Another person, known to the victim, had seen the vehicle again for sale on social media, recognized it, and alerted the victim. The vehicle was to be delivered to a new buyer in Paris with the meeting to take place in the 3500 block of NE Loop 286. Officers observed the suspected stolen vehicle in the area as well as another vehicle that the suspects were utilizing. Officers stopped both vehicles and confirmed the Toyota as the stolen vehicle from Addison. Both suspects were taken into custody. While in the back seat of a patrol unit, Alverado Sequera was found to have hidden the title of the stolen vehicle in the seat of the unit. He was charged with Tampering or Fabricating Evidence. Both suspects were charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
On Nov. 20, Officers were called to the 900 block of S. Main in response to a juvenile disturbance. They made contact with Angela Brooke Lackey (44) who was in a vehicle on the parking lot. Lackey was found to be consuming an alcoholic beverage. Subsequent investigations revealed that Lackey was intoxicated. She admitted to having driven to the location of the call with two children in the vehicle, one of whom was ten years of age, and the other, nine. Lackey was charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Under fifteen in the vehicle, a felony. She was processed without incident.
On Nov. 21, after responding to a 911 hang up call, officers came into contact with Bobby Charles Richards (64) in the 600 block of SW 7th ST. Richards was in a disturbance with a victim who advised that he had struck her in the leg with a metal walking cane. The victim displayed a laceration to the injured limb. A subsequent warrant check revealed that Richards also had an outstanding warrant from Lamar County for Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information on an elderly individual. Richards was charged with the warrant as well as Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
On Nov. 20, a theft of vehicle was reported in the 4000 block of Old Bonham Road. The victim advised they had left the keys in their vehicle the previous evening and had discovered it’s theft that morning. The truck was later located by officers in the George Wright Homes. The vehicle contained several items stolen in vehicle burglaries reported on the same date. Through the investigation, it was discovered that the suspect had entered an apartment in the complex. Officers received permission to enter the apartment and found a juvenile suspect, 16 years of age, sleeping upstairs. The suspect was in possession of a stolen firearm from a previous burglary of vehicle occurring on November 18. The suspect was arrested and charged with Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle as well as Theft of a Firearm.
Officers made 16 traffic stops, 6 adult arrest, and answered 114 calls for service for this reporting period.
