On Thursday evening, August 27, 2026, at approximately 9:22 p.m., officers with the Paris Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Lamar Avenue. During the traffic stop, officers made contact with a female driver who initially provided a false name.
Through further investigation, officers determined the driver’s true identity and discovered she had an outstanding warrant through Lamar County for Failure to Identify with Intent to Give False Information.
The driver was placed under arrest on the outstanding warrant and was additionally charged with Failure to Identify, Fugitive from Justice, with Intent to Give False Information, also a misdemeanor.
Following the arrest, officers conducted a search of the vehicle and located a small baggie containing suspected methamphetamine in the driver’s area. The substance was seized, and the driver was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, less than one gram, a state jail felony.
The driver was transported to the Lamar County Jail, where she was booked and processed without incident.
Officers made 24 traffic stops, made 4 adult arrests, and answered 73 calls for service during this reporting period.
