On Thursday, May 23 at 9:31am; as Paris Officers were patrolling through a parking lot in the 2500 block of North Main Street, they observed a white male to be asleep in the driver’s seat of a non-running vehicle. While checking the welfare of the male, a pink glass pipe was in plain view. During a probable cause search, plastic baggies containing a white crystal like substance, testing positive for methamphetamine were located. 54-Year-Old Russell David Doss was arrested and taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance-State Jail Felony.
On Thursday, May 23 at 12:15pm; a Paris Officer responded to the police lobby and spoke to a victim of a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle. Three days prior, two firearms (a $1000 Stribog and a $432 Taurus G3) had been stolen from his vehicle while parked in the 1200 block of East Houston Street. He stated that he did not think that he could report the firearms as stolen without having serial numbers. He stated that both firearms had been recovered on 05/22/2024 during a Lamar County Sheriff’s Office house raid.
On Thursday, May 23 at 1:26pm; a Paris Officer observed a passenger car run a stop sign in the 200 block of SW 7th Street and initiated a traffic stop. Passenger, 60-Year-Old Mary Ella Bailey had an outstanding warrant out of Lamar County and was taken into custody for Felony Theft Property <$2,500 2/More Previous Convictions and booked into the Paris Jail. The driver was given a warning for the violation and released from the scene.
On Thursday, May 23 at 2:32pm; Paris Officers observed 37-Year-Old Shawn Michael Lehman in the 1300 block of Clarksville Street and confirmed him with two Municipal Court-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Warrants. A traffic stop was initiated and Lehman was arrested on the warrants. During a search of Lehman, incident to arrest, Lehman was found to be in possession of Meth and additionally charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1/1-B <1G. Back seat passenger, 37-Year-Old Chelsea Debra Lynn Wortham was arrested for an outstanding Felony Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office Warrant, MTR-Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1/1-B <1G. Both were booked into the Paris Jail.
On Thursday, May 23 at 5:41pm; a Traffic Stop was initiated in the 1700 block of Lamar Avenue on a 2024 Camaro for running a red light. Contact was made with driver, 19-Year-Old Christian Medina. Medina was confirmed for an outstanding warrant out of Lamar County and was taken into custody and booked into the Paris Jail for Felony Evading Arrest Detention with VehicleDeadly Weapon.
