On Mar. 12, David Ray Alcala was arrested at a residence in the 1500 block of Fairfax St. after officers received notification that he was wanted for an outstanding warrant stemming from a March 1 incident in which Alcala entered the residence of an estranged spouse without permission and then assaulted her. Alcala was arrested without incident.
On Mar. 12, Officers were notified of a disturbance in the 1500 block of NE 20th involving a suspect displaying a firearm. The officers observed a vehicle matching the descriptors of the suspect vehicle in the area. Officers stopped the vehicle and found it to be operated by Donavan Blake Preston (24). Preston was found to be in a state of intoxication. He was found to be armed with a handgun. Preston was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated as well as Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. He was taken into custody without incident.
On Mar. 12, Officers responded to a Burglary of Motor Vehicle in the 3500 block of W. Houston St. The victim’s vehicle was entered while it was sitting unlocked in the driveway of the residence. A small amount of cash was the only thing the victim could identify as missing. Evidence was collected.
The department received a report of a stolen firearm from a victim living in the 2900 block of Clarksville St. The victim reported that a possibly known suspect stole a 9mm handgun from their apartment. There was no forced entry and only a limited number of individuals had access. The handgun was entered as stolen in Nationwide Data Base.
A burglary of a building was reported in the 1300 block of Neathery St. An employee entered the office of the PHA property there and found that someone had broken a window and made entry into the building. Nothing was immediately evident to be missing. The investigation will continue.
Officers made 13 traffic stops, 4 adult arrest, and answered 110 calls for service on for this reporting period.
