On Jan. 8 at 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of S. Collegiate. They met Manager who informed them that a suspect was on the property attempting to pass a forged check. The Manager advised that Ricky Lee Wilkerson, 59, had presented a check from a local business and attempted to cash it. Management had contacted the owner of the business who reported that the check was forged. Officers made contact with Wilkerson, who said he got the check for doing work for an unknown individual. Wilkerson was arrested for Forgery of a Financial Instrument.
On Jan. 18 at 11:08 a.m., officer was dispatched to the 3900 block of Bonham St. A victim advised that he had lost his wallet on the parking lot and that someone had found it and not returned it to him. Victim had gone to Dallas, then realized the wallet was missing and returned to look for it. Employees checked video and observed a subject pick up the wallet and leave the property with it in a vehicle. Employees said the subject taking the wallet was a regular and so identication is possible. The investigation will continue.
On Jan. 18 at 12:32 p.m., a stolen vehicle was recovered by the department and NE Texas Auto Theft Task Force in the 4000 block of Old Bonham Rd. A city employee had seen the vehicle there with engine running about 0800 and returned to check on the vehicle. The vehicle was found to be stolen out of Oklahoma. Vehicle was towed and reporting agency was notified. Investigation is continuing.
