Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 12:19pm: Paris Police Officers met a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle victim in the police lobby, who delayed making a report on Sunday the 4th because he was running late for church; but stated he had entered his unlocked truck in the 4300 block of Castlegate Drive and saw his truck had been rummaged through and his pistol and a shotgun were missing. His wallet with cards and ID had been moved, but not taken. The victim wasn’t real concerned with getting his guns back; but did not want to be implicated by his guns in a potential crime by the behavior of the thief.
Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 13:10pm: Paris Police Officers responded to a report of a fraud in the 3200 block of North Main Street that had occurred the night before. The victim was selling an $800 Miniature Boston Terrier male puppy and a $750 female puppy as an agreed package deal of $1,300. The victim agreed with skepticism to accept a check payment and is now without the puppies and dealing with a fraudulent check that was originally written by another individual to the suspect for $500, which was re-wrote over for $1,300 as determined by the victim’s bank. The case will be investigated.
Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 11:25am: Paris Police Officer was dispatched to the 10 block of Northeast 8th Street in reference to a Burglary of a Building. Suspect had tampered with the back door; reached through a slit in the door, cut the window screen to unlock the door to gain entry. Inside, items were knocked over and seemed to have been gone through, but nothing was reported as missing.
Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 11:52pm: Paris Police Officer initiated a stop on a male subject for walking on the wrong side of the roadway in the 200 block of SE 16th Street and identified him as Homeless 54-year-old James Harold Elrod. Elrod was confirmed to have two outstanding felony warrants with the Red River County Sheriff’s Office for Probation Violation Interference with Child Custody and Probation Violation-Possession of Controlled Substance. Elrod was booked in the Paris City Jail and later transferred to the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office.
Friday, December 9, 2022 at 3:56am: Paris Officer initiated a stop on a female for walking in the street in the 200 block of Southeast 22nd street when a sidewalk was provided. The subject was in possession of a black zipper container, which contained a clear bag containing a crystal-like substance, testing positive for methamphetamine. 28-year-old Jessica Cheyenne Phillips of Clarksville was identified, taken into custody and booked into the Paris City Jail for Possession of Controlled Substance.
Thursday, December 8, 2022: The Paris Police Department responded to 65 calls for service and arrested 4 adult persons.
