Paris Police responded to a burglary of a motor vehicle in the 10 block of SE 24th St at 8:00 A.M. on December 9, 2022. The victim reported that someone had entered their unlocked vehicle sometime during the night and had stolen a pistol. The investigation continues.
Paris Police arrested 25 year old Coty Wayne Taylor, of Paris, in the 300 block of SW 1st St at 10:00 A.M. on December 9, 2022 on several warrants. The warrants charged Taylor with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault in retaliation, bond surrender on a resisting arrest charge and possession of a controlled substance. Taylor was booked and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon at 1:39 P.M. on December 9, 2022. The 39 year old victim reported that as they were walking across the street in the 2500 block of Stillhouse Rd, a vehicle sped toward them. The victim reported that they were in fear and as the vehicle passed them, the driver was recognized. The incident is under investigation.
At 5:40 P.M. on December 9, 2022, Paris Police spoke with the victim of a fraud via telephone. The victim reported that someone had used their AT&T account to purchase 5 Apple IPhones. The investigation continues.
Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 1200 block of Lamar Ave for driving the wrong way on a one way street at 9:37 P.M. on December 9, 2022. The driver, 38 year old Jammy Lee Buitron, of Mt Pleasant, Texas, was found to be intoxicated and had an open container of alcohol in the console. It was found that Buitron had at least three previous arrests for driving while intoxicated so this charge was enhanced to a felony. Buitron was booked and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to a fraud in the 1400 block of Fitzhugh Ave at 9:52 P.M. on December 9, 2022. The victim reported that someone had used their nutrition assistance debit card to make purchases in Arkansas and New Jersey. The incidents are under investigation.
Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 10 block of NW 11th St at 10:17 P.M. on December 9, 2022 for having defective taillights on both sides of the vehicle. During the stop, the driver, Marquis Danille Hill, 39, of Paris, was found to have two felony probation violation warrants on possession of a controlled substance convictions. Hill was arrested and booked into the city jail and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to a theft in the 2600 block of Lamar Ave at 3:08 A.M. on December 10, 2022. The suspect had fled the scene before officers arrived. The 37 year old suspect was located in the 2500 block of Lamar Ave and detained. As the officers attempted to arrest the known suspect, the suspect fled from the officers. The officers were unable to locate the suspect after they lost sight of him. Due to the suspect being found to have at least two prior convictions for theft, this charge will be enhanced to a felony. The incident is under investigation.
Paris Police responded to a security check in the 800 block of DeShong Dr at 1:57 A.M. on December 11, 2022. Officers located 46 year old Toby Dale Bolyard in a parking lot and observed him damaging at least two vehicles with a long handled gardening tool. Damage to the vehicles was estimated to exceed $2,500. Bolyard was arrested and charged with criminal mischief. Bolyard was found to have numerous Municipal Court warrants. He is awaiting transfer to the Lamar County Jail.
At 5:03 A.M. on December 11, 2022, Paris Police responded to a shots fired call in the 800 block of W Austin St. A 59 year old male reported that he was standing on the sidewalk when he observed a maroon Ford Mustang stop in the intersection of 9th SW and Austin St. The male reported that the driver (identified as a Hispanic male) fired a pistol at him and and then drove off. No one was injured in the incident. A vehicle matching the description was later located abandoned in the 10 block of SE 2nd St. The incident is under investigation.
